Karissa Paxton and her team understand how to create a flawless event that will leave your guests talking for months and years to come. No matter the type or scale of the event, Karissa is well versed in choosing the perfect venue, building an impressive group of talented vendors, keeping clients organized, managing the guest list and/or sponsors. When in the planning stage, Karissa is thinking about guest experience and how she can create each event with a purpose all while working within budget and vision.
Design
Karissa starts with listening to each of her clients’ wishes and inspiration, then creates a design that is unique to each event. From there, a project plan hatches, a detailed storyboard of creative vision is presented, then all elements are managed and actualized. One of the keys to Karissa’s successful design aesthetic is that she evokes the five senses as well as guest comfort and incorporates these points throughout each event.
Design
A self proclaimed “Logistical Nerd”, Karissa takes pride in working closely with each of her creative vendors on the operational plan so that leading up to and during the event day, everyone has the time and equipment they need to ensure a smooth install and event. Using collaborative software, the timeline is created and is shared so that everyone involved is aware of the expectation and schedule. The Karissa Paxton team is fully invested and present at each event managing everything from rental deliveries, load in, install, event management, break down and follow up.

I don't even know where to start! Karissa became part of the family in the whole planning process. She is a master at being a friend, creative, and a get s*it done gal all in one! We had a 4 day wedding weekend in Carmel Valley, CA and Karissa and her team knocked it out of the park. From sourcing the best vendors, to helping me see our vision, to making it all a reality at a challenging venue location, to making sure people got where they needed to be, and oh yeah making sure FUN was had all along the way -- I couldn't have asked for better. I never questioned whether Karissa had it handled, she always did. It was truly an unforgettable weekend and Karissa and her team worked their butts off to make it so amazingly special and more.

My husband and I can't say enough good things about Karissa and her amazing team. The age old saying "the day goes by way too fast" is the truth but Karissa took care of EVERY detail with grace. Where do you even begin on how wonderful the wedding experience can be with Karissa. When you get engaged it's the most exciting time but the thought of a wedding is very overwhelming. Working with Karissa it not only felt like the wedding of my dreams just magically appeared but she is also the kindest, sweetest human to work with. The entire experience was so seamless from start to finish. I had an idea of having Mussels line one long table that would seat 80 people and Karissa was able to Implement it seamlessly. Karissa and her team are outstanding in many ways. She was our wedding planner and coordinator in 2013 and I recently looked her up to help (2022) with putting together a client event again in the Monterey County area. In both cases, Wedding - showed us a handful or more of places that fit what we were looking for but also varied in what they had to offer. Put forth excellent options for photographer, DJ, wedding cake, etc, and she has a designer vision that is top of class. The icing on the cake was my bride nor I had a single worry the whole wedding weekend. Karissa had it all covered. Whatever challenges surfaced, not a one became our concern. As for the client event, I had the start of a vision of what I wanted but it just wasn't complete. She completed my vision, had her team research the options and get proposals, and presented findings for consideration. Once again, the event was just perfect. Bottom line, Karissa is a lovable person and an outstanding event planner with an impeccable vision.
I immediately "clicked" with Karissa as a planner and person - she just "got me." I knew she understood my vision and would do everything in her power to bring it to life. I have a very creative imagination, and Karissa met every quirky, colorful challenge with a smile on her face. She wonderfully brought my ideas to life, and the biggest compliment I keep receiving about the wedding over and over again is that it was perfectly "us." Hiring a planner is an investment not only in the quality of your wedding but also in your own sanity as things pile up, and I am so thankful I had Karissa with me every step of the way. Throughout the weekend her team was in a million places at once and pulled off our dream day. Karissa was there to not only ensure the weekend went off without a hitch but also to bustle my dress, help me change, and to tell me when it was time to leave the dancefloor for our exit (try as I might to make the night last forever.) I don't know what I am going to do without my weekly calls with Karissa! I will miss her and her team dearly.
There are infinite amazing things I can say about Karissa, but to keep things short(ish), here are the Cliff's Notes: If you're looking for a wedding/event planner, you should hire Karissa immediately!!! Simply put, the wedding of our dreams would not have happened if she wasn't involved. We had lots of ideas for our wedding day venue and festivities, and had been repeatedly told that something had never been done before or wasn’t possible, but Karissa genuinely did everything she could to give us what we wanted, even if it meant working around the clock (late-night emails proved that!). Losing our first wedding planner ended up being a complete blessing in disguise, because it led us to Karissa! We genuinely loved working with her and could not have asked for a better person to have by our sides on our special day. Karissa was an absolute godsend, and we are forever grateful for the amazing work she did to make our wedding an incredible, unforgettable experience.
